Dear Bermuda District Voter,

There is an important election for Bermuda District Supervisor, Tuesday, November 8, and I need your support.  Polls will be open from 6 AM to 7 PM.

This is a critical election.  My opponent and I have very different approaches to governing.  The core of his platform, beyond attacks on me, is to make promises to groups—raising employee numbers and costs for a variety of departments in the county.  There has been no specific plan to raise taxes or cut other services to pay for these increases.  I, on the other hand, demonstrated in this term that raising expenditures in this economic climate is not good government. We re-examined core functions and held the line on property taxes.  So the choice is clear.

In the last four years, I have shown strong conservative leadership in a number of ways, including:

* Working to create a business-friendly environment while involving citizens in development that affects their communities.  During my term, businesses invested over $200 million in the Bermuda District. Expanding the commercial base is the single biggest contribution I can make as a supervisor to raise revenues to ensure competitive compensation for teachers and public safety personnel.
* Advocating hard to enhance public safety through such actions as working with police and apartment complexes to reduce problems and working for the fire department by reducing from 26% to 2% the aged fire equipment.
* Assisting the Jefferson Davis Association and other community groups, so those dedicated individuals who know their communities best have the support they need to preserve and enhance their neighborhoods.
* Pushing through the widening of Route 10 and the Meadowville interchange to facilitate development of the commercial base.
Check out the quotes on the attachment to see what some of the hundreds of dedicated people I have worked with during these last four years have to say about how I approach service to Bermuda.  Go to my website for specifics on recent issues:  www.dorothyjaeckle.com

You will decide what kind of supervisor you will have for the next four years—one who has demonstrated strong conservative leadership or one who has made vague promises to grow our government while individual citizens are strapped in tough economic times.

Your vote is important!  We must have a strong showing at the polls.  Don’t sit on the sideline.  Please come out November 8th, and ensure that Chesterfield maintains its values and quality of life.

         Sincerely yours,
